Topic 5 Suffixing Rule 1 Worksheets
These worksheets teach the very important doubling suffixing rule. When adding a vowel suffix to a root word which has only one syllable, only one vowel and one consonant after the vowel then the last letter of the root word must be doubled. Short vowels are reviewed to try and help explain the rule and then there are plenty of exercises for the student to practise doubling the consonant to keep the vowel short.
